of antique sheet music (1884) entitled "Wait For The Wagon". It was released as a promotion for the Studebaker Bros Manufacturing Company. "Wait For The Wagon" has an interesting history - different versions were sung on opposing sides of the American Civil War. After the war, a new version was released as popular music across the country. The sheet music released by Studebaker reflects that newer, postwar version.
The Studebaker Bros Manufacturing Company released multiple versions of this sheet music with different covers. This very, very rare and hard-to-find version features the words: "A Happy New Year 1884" across the top.
The illustration features happy revelers celebrating as they ride together in a horse-drawn wagon. Grand lettering reads "A Happy New Year 1884"; "Wait For The Wagon!"; Compliments of The Studebaker Bros Manufacturing Company. Each corner of the illustration also features a portrait of one of the Studebaker Brothers with their individual names written underneath. Flowers, a clock and other decor add to the lively, celebratory illustration alongside many small details destined to thrill any history buff.
