OEM 65-66 Chevrolet Bowtie Tachometer Dealer Accessory Nova L79

This is a real deal original GM/Chevrolet Bowtie accessory tachometer that was offered as a dealer installed option/accessory in the 1965-1966 model years. This tach can be used on all engines, including 4, 6, and 8 cylinders. There is an adjustment behind the bowtie emblem in the face to calibrate the tach to the correct reading. This tach is well known for being used on 1966 Chevy II/Nova models since there was no factory installed tachometer available on a 1966 Nova. With the addition of the L79 327/350HP engine to the Nova lineup in 1966, dealers were known to add these tachometers to add to the performance image of the car while also reducing warranty claims due to over-revving out the stout Small Block. That said, in 1965-1966, the dealer could add this to any new or used car or could sell the tachometer to any customer over the parts counter for installation on any vehicle. These tachs were rare when new and are like hen's teeth to find today. Don't miss out on this very rare and hard to find tach in excellent condition.
This tach is in very good original condition as shown. The face is easy to read with jus the right amount of fading to match an original car as shown. The lens is clean and clear with no cracks or yellow and some light scratches that would polish out if they bother you. The commonly missing original bowtie emblem is intact and in good shape as shown.  The chrome is very nice original with great shine/reflection and light wear. The swivel mount is in great shape, adjusts easily, and stays put when tightened down. The wiring is is intact with all connectors as shown. One wire was loose and has been reattached as shown. I am including copies of the original installation instructions and install templates as shown. I really can't say enough about this tach. It is a true gem that would be right at home in an original car or could be the pride of your parts collection. Don't Miss It!
I tested this tach and it works flawlessly throughout the RPM band with no sticking or hesitation and returns to zero when turned off.
